The best 10 bars in Spain for going out for tapas
Is it Friday and are weekend appetisers already on your mind? We’d be lying if we told you we hadn’t spent the past week thinking about that. You most probably have your list of favourite bars in the city, which we think is great! If you’re also going to be travelling around Spain this summer, we can recommend the following selection of the best tapas bars for you to check out (we’re sure there are many other good ones out there).

Let’s start our tour in the capital. If you fancy spending a few days around Madrid, we recommend you set some time aside and drop in at Casa Labra. This tavern, which is over a hundred years old, is a Mecca for fans of the traditional appetisers. Classic cod recipes are the strong point.

As a technological flag-by-flag homage, this bar in Salamanca has featured a lot over the past few months. Its eye-catching décor and select wine list have made it one of the most frequented establishments in the vicinity of Salamanca’s Plaza Mayor.

We’re heading south to check out one of Spain’s loveliest cities. Stop off between the Paseo de los Tristes and the Alhambra to enjoy tapas at Los Diamantes. Remember, as it happens in many other cities, the tapa comes for free with your drink. A veritable treat that is not expensive!
granada es una de las mejores ciudades para tapear

We mustn’t leave classic Basque pintxos off our list of the best tapas bars in Spain. Sagartoki is one of the best known bars in Vitoria, with its wide selection of pintxos for you to try.

Not many people think of Murcia when looking to spend a weekend enjoying tapas and relaxing on the beach. Located in the centre of Murcia is Los Zagales, a long-established bar, where you can try some of the most traditional Murcian dishes.

This avant-garde restaurant inside hotel Gran Melia Colón features references to bullfighting. Enjoy these delectable and creative tapas in original surroundings.

If you’re heading to eastern Andalusia’s beaches this summer, be sure to stop off at Casa Purga in Almería. It is popular for its tapas and wine, the perfect combination for a respite from the summer heat.

One of the most talked-about spots in Albacete. Ideal for trying the lovingly prepared tapas and local wines.

This bar has recently become hugely popular in Alicante. Perfect for a bit to eat before spending the afternoon moving around Alicante. A wide selection of tapas at affordable prices.

A classic bar in this Castilian city. Villa Paramesa is an establishment steeped in history, and with original tapas with a focus on cheese and wine.

That’s pretty much everything you need to know before setting off on your trip! Now you just need to kit yourself out with the best accessories and then you’re all set! Did we leave a bar out that you think we should have in our list?
